But I would like to add to some more facts to this.

1. Switching jobs in start of an year is not good. As you won't get the hike for that year (both in your current company and the next organization).

2. You shouldn't bother about variable pay of the current organization as in most of the organization you will get that amount for the period you are serving there.

Companies with financial year from Apr-Mar. April is generally when companies announce financial result. Hence,The budget for hiring & no. of hires is largely dependent on financial result. Many employees decide quitting the firm in April because they are not satisfied with compensation hike or promotion. Typically such companies start hiring in full swing from May.

Some companies announce the no. they would hire in there financial result. Mostly such numbers would majorly constitute of freshers.

Similarly Financial year from June -Jully will follow similar cycle.

Attrition is continous so there are positions in organisations across the year. The no. of position will derive the hiring strategy.

Incase you are a fresher/experienced professional.

Please donot focus on any specific month as long as it suits your interest area and job profile.

You musnt forget the number of applicants is always more. Seize the opputunity in hand.

Campus hiring generally starts in the month of July and continues till the end of November and second phase of hiring starts by the end of January and gets completed by may. But the most of off campus for Freshers starts in the month of may and continues till the next batch pass out.

The best time for switching a job is from July-October as many companies have their openings during this time.
